Born in England, Colin Escott lives near Nashville, Tennessee. He is the author of Good Rockin’ Tonight: Sun Records and the Birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll, the first in-depth account of the Sun Records story. His book Hank Williams – The Biography has been adapted into the movie I Saw the Light, starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen. His multi-CD box set, The Complete Hank Williams, won a Grammy, and another of his productions, B.B. King – King of the Blues, was nominated for a Grammy.
Million Dollar Quartet received three Tony nominations, including Best Book and Best Musical. Escott was part of the writing/producing team adapting the show for CMT/Viacom. The first season aired in 2016.
Floyd Mutrux apprenticed at the Alley Theatre in Houston and worked at Second City in Chicago; he attended Columbia University. He has conceived, written, directed, or produced 50 films, including Dusty and Sweets McGee; Freebie and the Bean; Aloha, Bobby and Rose; The Hollywood Knights; American Hot Wax; Dick Tracy; American Me; Blood In, Blood Out; There Goes My Baby; and Mulholland Falls. With his wife Birgitte, he is preparing a new film Moon Over Memphis (a rock-and-roll Field of Dreams.) He also cowrote the musical Baby It’s You! With Colin Escott and helped adapt Sun Records, the new television series based on Million Dollar Quartet. Million Dollar Quartet received three Tony Award nominations in 2010, including best book and best musical.
Bob Angelini is thrilled to be able to bring professional theater back to Asbury Park. The founding Board President and past Artistic Director of ReVision Theater, Bob teamed up with Bill Whitefield and Board President Robert Allison to fill this huge void of theater art in our community. William Whitefield is a singer, songwriter, composer, lyricist, director, promoter, arts educator and actor who hails originally from Nashville, TN. He is a founding Board member and the Producing Artistic Director of APTCo, having recently directed their first hit show, Green Day's American Idiot this past summer. He was the Executive Director at Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan, NJ for six years. While there, he produced over 30 main stage Broadway style shows such as the New Jersey premiere of Spamalot starring Robert Johanson, Joseph….., Tuesdays with Morrie, The 1940s Radio Hour, The Music Man, Always, Patsy Cline starring Emmy Award Winner Sally Struthers and Carter Calvert, Kids Say the Darndest Things starring Patrick Cassidy, My Fair Lady, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Shrek, The King & I, Annie Get Your Gun and South Pacific.
As a composer he collaborated with the late science fiction writer Ray Bradbury on the musical adaptation of Mr. Bradbury's short story, The Day It Rained Forever. He also had the great fortune to work with the late fiction novelist Mary Higgins Clark on an adaptation of her new children’s book, The Magical Christmas Horse, composing the music and co-writing the lyrics with playwright Cynthia Mitchell Payne, and the show had a successful run at Algonquin Arts Theatre. At Cherry County Playhouse in Muskegon, MI, he co-composed music and lyrics along with playwright/co-lyricist/director Bill Castellino and co-composer/co-lyricist Christopher McGovern for Crash Club, a new hip-hop musical for teens that was choreographed by Emmy Award winning and Tony Award nominated choreographer Joshua Bergasse. He was the composer and co-lyricist for Queen Esther, which he co-wrote with playwright Lenora Conway.
As an actor he has been seen in the lead role of Giuseppe in The Gondoliers, the role of Florian in Princess Ida, the role of Bill Bobstay in H.M.S. Pinafore and as a pirate in The Pirates of Penzance starring Hal Linden, all at City Center in New York City. He was featured in The Presidents starring Rich Little and directed by Bill Castellino, first at the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center and then at TheatreFest in Montclair, NJ. The show was later taped for TV at The Paris Theatre, Las Vegas and subsequently aired on PBS. As a commercial actor, he has appeared in several TV commercials for such companies as Letgo, YOPA (England), Benjamin Moore Paints, Office Depot among others.
As a songwriter he wrote the music with lyricist Nick De Biase for two songs for Centaur Records: “Every Time You’re Near” performed by Tony Award winner Alice Ripley on the CD, Utopia and “Never Letting Go” sung by Elsa Raven on the CD, Dance With Angels. He also wrote the music with lyricist Bill Castellino for Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker’s recording of “Fine” which is featured on her album, Leaving Home, produced by Christopher McGovern.
As a singer he made appearances around the globe from 2001 to 2018 with the famous disco group Village People, officially replacing David Hodo as the Construction Worker in the group in 2013. He is a proud member of ASCAP, SAG-AFTRA, Actors Equity Association and Dramatist Guild. He earned his BA in Theatre at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, teaches voice and produces music in his home where he resides with his husband Christopher Verdi.
Remember Jones is a national touring artist heralded as “New Jersey’s most ambitious song interpreter” recently guest-starred as Teen Angel in Grease at Axelrod Performing Arts Center, where he also recently sold out a string of dates as director, music director, producer, and star of BAT OUT OF HELL LIVE, the entire Meat Loaf album and more with a 16-piece band including Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Max Weinberg on drums. He recently directed HAIR at Count Basie Center and is Associate Director of the HAIR Archives, and has directed and produced productions of The Rocky Horror Show, TOMMY, Ring of Fire, Godspell, Shrek, and more. He has performed in Evita (Che), title roles in Jekyll & Hyde, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Franknfurter in Rocky Horror, Hedwig & The Angry Inch (Hedwig, as well as director of the NJ premiere), and many more. He has shared stages with Bruce Springsteen, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes, Darlene Love, Robert Randolph, Buster Poindexter, Ivan Neville, Southside Johnny, and more, and released his spin on “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head?” alongside Deana Martin to celebrate her father Dean’s 100th birthday. His original music (with a 3rd album released this year available now) and unique theatrical revues of the music of Amy Winehouse, Queen, Joe Cocker and Jeff Buckley have played nearly 40 states and countless cities, with a full tour schedule through 2023. Serena Soffer (Associate Producer) is a versatile artist. (triple threat as they say) A Broadway Performer, choreographer, dance educator and yogi! She has worked extensively all over the world. She was first inspired by her mother, Eva, a performing contortionist in the early 1930's in the German Circus. Serena's professional performing career began at the young age of ten, where she began working with multiple legends, including Ray Bolger (the Scarecrow in Oz), Gregory Hines (the famous tapper), Donald O’Connor (Singing in the Rain) and Jane Krakowski (NBC’s 30 Rock). Just google kids!! In her teens, she received a full scholarship to the New York Academy of Theatrical Arts which began her journey with her classical ballet training. Her Broadway credits include Assistant Choreographer and featured performer in Footloose. Radio City music Hall “Bernadette Peters Live”, Featured Dancer in Broadway Bares directed by Jerry Mitchell. 3 years in the National and European tour of Phantom of the Opera. Assistant Choreographer to and dancer in the Movie Rock of ages starring Tom Cruise. Serena choreographed "Panic at the disco's tour “nothing rhymes with circus” For many years she was on the faculty of Broadway dance center.

Jason Cohen (Co-Director, Co-Musical Director) is an actor, director, writer, musical director, and multi-instrumentalist, frequently working in more than one capacity on any given project. He played Jerry Lee Lewis on the national tour of Million Dollar Quartet in over 80 cities across North America. With his production company Emmett Productions (EmmettProductionsLLC.com) he created, produces, and performs the theatrical concerts Great Balls of Fire, which hit 150 performances in its first year, and Less Honkin', More Tonkin', with more on the way. He has worked at Williamstown, Fiasco, North Shore, Delaware Theatre, Florida Studio, Ogunquit, and many others. Jon Rossi (Co-Director, Co-Musical Director) is happy to be playing his 21st production of Million Dollar Quartet! He has spent the past seven years on various national tours including Million Dollar Quartet (Music Supervisor, Fluke), A Night With Janis Joplin (Music Director, drums), A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage (Shermy, drums), and more. When not touring, Jon can be found playing regional theatres around the country. He is also the creator of Under the Sun, a theatrical concert celebrating Sun Records. He is also the host and producer of The Rossifari Podcast, a podcast about zoos and animal conservation. If you've recently seen a video of someone playing drums with an elephant, it was Jon!
Richard Travali (Sound) began his career at New York’s legendary Hit Factory Recording Studios, assisting world class engineers & mixers such as Bob Clearmountain, Tom Lord Alge, and Roy Halee. He’s recorded Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, and Luther Vandross in addition to working with Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Paul Simon — including the latter’s “The Rhythm of the Saints” LP, “The Capeman” musical, & “Paul Simon’s Concert in the Park,” which earned him an Emmy Award
Nomination for live sound mixing.
Travali went freelance in the 1990s as Hip Hop and R&B were exploding. He began working with Puff Daddy in the early days of Bad Boy Entertainment, who called on him to mix the majority of Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album. For the next two decades plus, Travali mixed numerous Platinum and Gold Records, with Billboard #1 hits in the Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop genres. Notable producers and artists including Robin Thicke, Pharrell, The Neptunes and The Trackmasters routinely continue to utilize Travali’s expert skills in many of the finest studios in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Paris.
Travali mixes in his private facility on the Jersey Shore, while maintaining relationships with several world-class studios in New York and New Jersey for clients that require his recording skills in addition to mixing. Rich is proud to lend his services to clients on all levels of the industry: major-label, indie and self-financed. Outside the studio Travali’s interests include cats, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, single barrel bourbon & fine cigars.
Lyle Greene (Lighting Design) is delighted to be back working with Asbury Park Theater Company. He is from Long Island, NY and is currently a senior studying for his BFA in Musical Theatre and BA in Technical Theatre at Rider University. Lyle is the recipient of a Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Certificate of Merit for excellence in Stage Management from serving as Assistant Stage Manager of Bright Star.

Emily Niemeyer (Production Stage Manager) is a stage manager and performer from New Jersey who holds a M.M in Classical Vocal Performance, as well as bachelor degrees in both Theatre and Music. She has recently acted as the stage manager for Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria (dell'Arte Opera Ensemble), Here There Be Dragons (The Players Theatre) and Smokey Joe's Cafe (Pleasant Valley Productions), assistant stage manager for Twirl (Vivid Stage) and run crew for Stranger Sings (Playhouse 46). Brian Nowak (Asst. Stage Manager) is an actor and writer based out of Asbury Park, NJ. He is honored to make his behind the curtain debut with Million Dollar Quartet. Some of his most memorable performances include Lewis in Pippin, Lucius in Titus Andronicus, and Sir Bedevere + Not Dead Fred in Spamalot.
Shannon Naughton Frank (Hair and Makeup Design) is excited to be joining the Asbury Park Theater company for her first time. Shannon studied Special Effects Makeup Design for Theater and Film at the Tom Savino Special Effects program in Pittsburgh, PA and has been working in the Theater industry for 12 years on the east coast .
Grace Allison (Dyanne) has been enthralled with this show ever since getting cast, and has had an amazing time with this project. She is very grateful to the APTCO production team and her fellow cast mates for working hard alongside her to make this show a success. She’s currently a student at Monmouth University, and feels blessed that she is still able to pursue her passion for theater at the same time. Justin P. Bendel (Brother Jay -Bass Guitar) has become one of Pittsburgh’s most sought-after bassists. Equally at home as an orchestral member, pit musician, soloist, and instructor, Mr. Bendel maintains a thriving, successful studio alongside his full-time career as a professional bassist. With 70+ musicals to his credit, he is no stranger to the eclectic music of Broadway. He was most recently asked to reprise the role of Brother Jay (bassist) for the Orpheum Theatre’s production of Million Dollar Quartet (National Tour) in Memphis this past summer. Previous engagements as Brother Jay include Hippodrome Theatre (Gainesville), Dutch Apple Theatre (Lancaster), and PCLO (Pittsburgh). Most notably, with the CLO Cabaret, he played 412 performances of Forever Plaid.
In early 2020, Justin had the honor of being the requested bassist to perform for rock drummer and founder of The Police, Stewart Copeland, for his commissioned world premiere rock opera “Satan’s Fall.” Throughout his vast career, he has shared the stage with artists ranging from Christopher Parkening, Yo-Yo Ma, Andrea Bocelli, The Moody Blues, Al Jarreau, Michael W. Nathan Burke (Carl Perkins) is a New York-based actor and musician from Texas. Since the Fall of 2019, he has played Carl Perkins in the National Tour of Million Dollar Quartet. He’s thrilled to have the opportunity to keep the sounds of Sun Records alive and to share them with you!
Garrett Forrestal (Jerry Lee Lewis) is super excited to be a part of Asbury Park Theatre Company’s production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET! Sage Spiker (Elvis Presley) is thrilled to be making his Asbury Park debut alongside such a talented cast! An Iowa native, Sage is now based out of the NYC area. Some recent credits include Calogero in the regional premiere of A Bronx Tale at Broadway Palm, Phoebus in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Sammy in The Wedding Singer at Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, and Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet for Mountain Movers Theatre. Joey Walsh (Johnny Cash) is honored to be back performing for APTCo and helping this incredible company bring theatre to Asbury Park! Senator Declan O'Scanlon has served in the New Jersey Senate since 2018. In 2022, he was named Republican Budget Officer.
He previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2007 to 2017, including as Republican Budget Officer from 2012 through 2017. O'Scanlon earned dual bachelor's degrees in finance and psychology from Monmouth University in 1986. Senator Vin Gopal was elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. He has sponsored dozens of pieces of legislation that have become law. His community contributions as a volunteer include serving as a past Board of Trustees Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County, and he served for many years as a volunteer first responder and EMT. He is also a former Adjunct Professor at Monmouth University and is currently the co-chair of the Monmouth University School of Civil Discourse.
An entrepreneur, Senator Gopal has started and built several businesses and is currently a business consultant and coach. Senator Gopal has served on the Board of Directors for the Northern Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce, and as President of the Hazlet Township Business Owners Association. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, he created a districtwide organization of business, community, church, and nonprofits leaders to address the challenges of the coronavirus to the local economy.
Born in Neptune Township and raised in Monmouth County, Senator Gopal holds a Masters in Public Administration from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.
